Bro. Eddie Nation

William Edward Nation or Bro. Eddie as we like to call him came to FBC August 2001 from Shelbyville, KY. He surrendered to the ministry at age 22 and received his Masters in Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY where he is currently working toward his DMin. Bro. Eddie married his sweetheart Anita in October 1984. They have been blessed with two children, Joshua and Meghan. Since coming to FBC, Bro. Eddie has established several ministry programs some of which include GROW, Upward Soccer and AWANA. Our church growth also has lead to having two morning services each Sunday. When Bro. Eddie isn't preaching or visiting you can find him spending time with his family or doing some of his favorite hobbies like hunting, fishing, golf and watching UK Wildcat sports.

Associate Pastor of Children and Youth

Aaron Kennedy came to FBC Mt. Vernon in April 2009. He and his wife, Lauren, are originally from Martin, TN. Aaron became a Christian at the age of eight and surrendered to the ministry when he was twenty-one. After graduating from University of Tennessee at Martin, Aaron received a Masters in Christian Education from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN. He has also received a Masters of Theology in Biblical Counseling from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. Aaron's philosophy of student ministry is to equip and work alongside parents in bringing up a generation of solid, lasting disciples of Christ. Aaron loves spending time with Lauren, being outside, and rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals. And, oh yes, he is a huge fan of the Tennessee Volunteers.

Pastor of Senior Adults

Bro. Luther Allen is no stranger to FBC Mt. Vernon. He and his wife Sandy started their ministry together here in 1985 as youth minister. After leaving FBC, Luther went on to different roles in other churches, including Pastor at Brodhead Baptist Church. We feel extremely blessed that the Lord brought Luther and Sandy back home to us in 2008. Luther is now full-time chaplain for Rockcastle County Health and Rehabilitation Center and also Lead Chaplain for AMA Flattrack Series MRO. Luther has been a tremendous help at FBC filling in whatever area is needed whether it be pulpit supply or music director.

Church Secretary

Beth Saylor became secretary at FBC in March 2001. She received her Associate degree in Business and Office Management from Somerset Community College in May 1999. Whether it is producing the bulletins or newsletters, answering the phone, website design or just helping others, she loves it all! Beth married her high school sweetheart, Seth in June 1999 and the Lord has richly blessed them with two children, Laura Beth and Lucas Seth. Beth enjoys spending time with her family and friends, gardening and shopping.
